Between projects, I visited our fabric warehouse outlet store and discovered they’d just gotten a new shipment of batiks: all yellow and black.

Oberlin, Ohio has a wonderful museum highlighting the Underground Railroad. The city was an important stopping point for slaves journeying to freedom. 

Looking for My Garden in the Middle of Winter was created at the end of March, 2014, when our very long, brutal winter refused to end. I needed something bright and cheery, with lots of color.

Dignity quilts were donated to a nursing home. They are used to drape the deceased resident as he/she is taken out of the home so the other residents don’t see the black body bag.

The prayer quilts are given to people who are grieving, ill, or in nursing homes and hold the same comfort of prayer as prayer shawls. Prayers were made for the recipient while the quilt was being made, asking for comfort, peace and health of the recipient.
